Surveillance cameras captured the moment when suspects stopped a vehicle on Thursday and shot rapper Pacho El Antifeka dead.

The 42-year-old was in his 2008 Infinity EX35 after attending an appointment at a mental health clinic in the Plaza Tropical shopping center in the city of Bayamón when at least two men opened fire.

Two bystanders run into a business before the suspects run away.

Authorities said Friday that the murder may have been the result of a drug war.

As of Friday, no arrests had been reported.

Lieutenant Colonel Roberto Rivera of the Puerto Rico Police Department told WKAQ radio that Pacho El Antifeka’s killers were already tracking his moments.

“They were stalking him yesterday (Wednesday) until they said him,” he said. “They let him in first. He was seen. When he returned to the vehicle, they opened fire on him and riddled him in the vehicle.’

In March, Pacho El Antifeka was arrested following an FBI raid on a public housing project where he lived, after police recovered two of his wife’s guns. He was released on bail and had to wear an ankle bracelet.

In March 2015, he was arrested for the unlawful possession of a firearm modified to fire automatically after police saw him dump the gun for a company in Cataño.

Federal law prohibited him from being near guns after police arrested him.

He pleaded guilty in January 2016. A federal prosecutor demanded a five-year sentence, though guidelines called for two to two and a half years.

However, the judge sentenced him to eight years and threw years of supervised release after reviewing the lyrics to his music and stating that he was “inciting violence.”

Pacho El Antifeka acknowledged his mistake during sentencing, but told the judge he only did this to protect himself from criminals.

“You say this is a Third World country. As an artist you have money and jewelry and they (criminals) know where you are going to sing and anyone can come and get yours,” he said. Your Honor, as for my music, I used it like many others, as a springboard to be someone in urban music, to grow and develop and I wanted to grow as an artist and I was on the right track until this happened to me . ‘

The conviction was appealed to a federal district court in Boston and subsequently reduced to three years in prison and three years of supervised release.

The musician, who also recorded under Pacho Alqaeda, was once part of the duo Pacho & Cirilo and signed with Duars Entertainment.

He has appeared in hits like ‘Triste’ with Nicky Jam; ‘No Te Veo’ with Jay Wheeler and Wisin y Yandel; and ‘Tu No Eras Asi’ with Rauw Alejandro.

Daddy Yankee lamented the death of his friend, thanking him for his loyal friendship. In 2018, they collaborated on the song ‘Como Soy’, which also featured Bad Bunny.

‘I’m not the one who judges someone’s personal life, but I can judge the way people treat me; based on that judgment I can choose my friends,” he wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of him and Bad Bunny.

“I am aware that you have always treated me with respect, appreciation, honesty, sincerity and loyalty. Those qualities are worth a lot to me, because they are not easy to find these days.’
