Several people were stabbed at various locations Monday morning, including at a McDonald’s in Oxford, North Carolina.
Granville County Sheriff Robert Fountain confirmed that a suspect – who allegedly stabbed four people – has been taken into custody.
Police chased the suspect on Interstate 85 North before arresting them about 90 minutes after the initial attack.
The ordeal began at 7:30 a.m. when the suspect stabbed a government employee on Belle Street near the Granville County administrative offices.
The knife suspect then moved to Wall Street where they stabbed another person near the Granville County Board of Elections.
One person was then stabbed at McDonald’s on MLK Jr Avenue and East Industry Drive. Customers have been denied entry while police search the venue.
Another attack occurred at a Walmart supercenter on Lewis Street.

All of the stabbing victims were rushed to hospitals outside of Granville County.
Their terms have not been released.
Oxford Police Chief Pat Ford said all the knives appeared to be random, but an investigation is underway to determine the motive.
Ford said the suspect’s name has not been released at this time.
Police confirmed they acted alone and there were no other threats to the general public.
Fountain said: “It was just someone maybe having a bad day, maybe a mental health crisis, but we are working diligently with the OM and local police to find out what happened.”
