Suspect arrested for murder of Bob Lee ran his own tech firm and lives $703,000 Bay Area condo

Nima Momeni was arrested on suspicion of murdering Cash App founder Bob Lee on April 4 in San Francisco.

Shockingly, Momeni would have known his victim – the two men allegedly went on a car ride shortly before the murder took place.

According to Mission Local, they were in a car registered to Momeni.

Like Lee, Momeni works in engineering – although he is considerably less successful than the butchered tycoon, who was worth many millions of dollars.

Further details about the relationship between Lee and his alleged killer have not yet come out.

Momeni was arrested Thursday morning by San Francisco police at an address in Emeryville.

The city is across the San Francisco Bay from the city where Lee was killed.

Momeni lives there in a posh two-bedroom condominium, which Zillow says is worth about $703,000.

The large open plan property has a large open plan living space with industrial style concrete beams, with room for a bed on the ground floor and on the mezzanine floor.

Momeni is related to Dr. Dino Elyassnia, a Bay Area plastic surgeon, who is believed to be married to the sister of the suspected killer, Khazar.

Lee had moved from San Francisco to Miami at the time of his murder and was back in his former hometown to attend a conference.

It is unclear whether Momeni attended the conference alone.

The suspected killer is related to one of San Francisco’s top plastic surgeons, Dino Elyassnia, who specializes in facial rejuvenation and nose jobs.

DailyMail.com is working to confirm the link between the two, though Elyassnia lives with Momeni’s sister Khazar, suggesting they may be married.

The stabbing by an acquaintance could partially explain why Lee was wandering a section of Main Street where there was almost no foot traffic at 2:30 a.m.

Lee eventually died in hospital later that morning.

Lee’s death was cited as the latest example of escalating crime in the Democratic city and led to increased criticism of Mayor London Breed.

But days before the arrest, Breed resisted, appearing to suggest that Lee’s death was not a random act of violence against someone who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Over the weekend, she told residents not to “jump to conclusions” about his death and said people “will be surprised when the facts come out.”

Momeni’s LinkedIn profile says he owns Expand IT, a group of “local, knowledgeable IT professionals dedicated to providing solid, reliable and efficient technology solutions and cost-effective support services to our valued SMB and Enterprise Client.”

He described himself as a “dedicated technology partner since 2005, serving a variety of vertical customer markets across healthcare, finance, high-tech/startup, technology, manufacturing, and services.”

According to his profile, he attended Vista College, Laney College, and UC Berkeley and is fluent in Farsi in addition to English.

The alleged killer, whose motive has not yet been revealed, appears to be living in a swanky Bay Area apartment where police were sent Thursday morning.

Lee’s location was one of many reasons officers thought it might not have been a simple or random crime.

Cash App founder Bob Lee’s last moments can be seen on CCTV as he clutches his wounds and begs passersby for help after his savage stabbing – only to be left to die.

Father-of-two Lee, 43, was stabbed multiple times in the chest on Tuesday morning while on a business trip.

Security video obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com reveals how the fading tech tycoon made repeated, desperate attempts to flag passing cars – only to watch in horror as they sped away.

Officers rushed to the scene and administered first aid, but by then it was too late to rescue Lee, formerly chief technology officer at Square, where he created Cash App, and current chief product officer at MobileCoin.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite efforts by first responders and medical personnel, the victim succumbed to his injuries,” the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) said.

A kitchen knife with a 4-inch blade was reportedly found in a parking lot across the street, but police have yet to make any arrests.
