Be ahead start with early access on February 22, 2024, Inflexion Games’ upcoming open-world survival game Nightingale will conduct a server stress test, which select players will be able to participate in in early 2024.
For anyone who is unknown, Nightingale takes players to the land of Fae, a mysterious, Victorian-inspired place full of creepy horrors. As a Realmwalker, players must attempt to find their way to “humanity’s last known bastion,” the titular city of Nightingale.
Being a PvE (player versus environment) game that allows up to six people to play at once, it’s crucial that the game’s servers can handle the action, hence the upcoming stress test. In a blog post Announcing the news, Inflexion stated that potential testers do not need to purchase the game to participate, they simply need to visit the game. Steam store page and press the green ‘Request Access’ button for a chance to be selected. However, this test is separate from the previous one Nightingale playtests, so even if you’ve taken part in them before, there’s no guarantee you’ll get in this time.
What you can expect depends entirely on how the servers hold up. Inflexion reiterated that “there are no bad results” as the development team will gain important information anyway, but if everything goes smoothly, “we hope that all participants can connect to the Realms and enjoy the first few hours without interruption of the game. ”
However, there is a chance that some people may experience problems with their connection or not be able to connect at all. Communication with the team remains open in the official Discord chat.
The exact date and times of the server stress test have not yet been announced. Inflexion says more details will be revealed “in early January.”
During Gamescom 2023, TRG was able to confirm that, despite being full of alien beasts, Nightingale will thankfully include an arachnophobia mode which removes all spiders from the game. So if you don’t like eight-legged arachnids, you have nothing to worry about.
