But there’s one surprising demographic the popular dating show has touched: seniors.

A member of a MAFS fan group on Facebook made the surprising revelation this week, claiming the show is very popular in nursing homes.

‘Can I just say, I work in aged care and I have residents who rush out at dinner time to complete their shower and bed routine so they don’t miss MAFS! No joke!’ read the message.

“I work in community care for the elderly and I have clients who watch it too lol,” another Facebook user confirmed.

It comes as the 2024 show has consistently dominated overnight commercial television ratings in Australia.

Every episode of season 11 reached the number one spot in total overnight viewers, with the exception of episode 10 on February 12, where the episode came in second behind the Super Bowl broadcast.

The reality dating show consistently attracted more than 1.2 million people, with a national reach of almost 3 million.

The explosive reunion dinner, which saw new ‘villain’ Jono McCullough arrive with Ellie Dix, had more than 1.7 million MAFS fans glued to their screens.
