Surprise Five Nights at Freddy's game revealed due to it being accidentally released on Roblox
A new game from the Five Nights at Freddy's series is coming Roblox – or rather, it already did, by accident, in what franchise creator Scott Cawthon called “one of the most mind-boggling, insane things that has ever happened in my ten years working on FNAF.”
Roblox Players discovered this on Wednesday Five Nights at Freddy's: Survival Crew was playable on the kid-friendly platform, even though the game had not yet been officially announced. The players realized that too Survival squad was not in a polished, playable state. Cawthon said he had it taken out Roblox after he realized what had happened.
“This is a game that is still in its infancy,” Cawthon explained in a post on the website Five Nights at Freddy's subreddit, “temporary assets; temporary gameplay, everything unfinished yet. The fact that it was suddenly dropped on the public today just blows my mind.”
Cawthon chalked up Survival squad's unexpected launch led to a simple yet baffling error: “Apparently there was a enormous misunderstanding when I approved a skin, and it was interpreted as RELEASE THE GAME.
So yes, Cawthon said, there is an FNAF game coming Roblox. He hopes to solve it sometime in 2024, with the help of developer Metaverse Team Frights.
“I hope everyone can at least believe me when I say that this was a game that was in the testing phase and in no way ready to be released to the public,” Cawthon said. “I've never played it myself. So again, a catastrophic misunderstanding, and I apologize. Will make.”
The Roblox store listing for Five Nights at Freddy's: Survival Crew is still active, but with a warning that the game is in beta. It also includes a description to let players know what to expect when the time officially arrives Roblox next year.
