Aussie teens accused of throwing objects at an innocent family in drive-by attack in Surfers Paradise spark outrage

A group of teenagers accused of throwing objects at a family from a restaurant in a popular tourist hotspot have been criticized by locals.

The brutal incident happened along a busy strip in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast on Wednesday.

A passing motorist who witnessed the incident expressed his anger as they uploaded photos to a Facebook group of the group traveling in a gray Toyota Hilux in the beachside suburb.

The photos showed a young driver of the vehicle sitting next to another teen in the front passenger seat, wearing a blue shirt.

Two other teenagers sat in the back and wore branded T-shirts.

Red P plates displayed on the rear window of the ute.

They also shared a photo of a family on the sidewalk comforting each other after the incident.

“If these are your children, or you are the children who specifically target people of different cultures by aggressively throwing things out of car windows, shame on you,” the motorist wrote.

An outraged motorist, who spotted the teenage boys, uploaded images to Facebook of the group driving a gray Toyota Hilux (pictured) along a road in the beachside suburb.

‘Your car details and faces have been passed on to the police’.

Fellow residents who read the message were also furious when they heard what had happened.

‘It’s disgusting to see that. How awful for those people… I applaud you for taking a stand and hope the police respond,” one person wrote.

Another added: “Scum. People like this absolutely need to be publicly shamed,” someone else wrote.

A third commented: ‘That’s awful, people are happily enjoying their holidays and you get these idiots.’

Others called the teenager “bogans” and praised the motorist, who reported the incident to police.

“Good for you for calling them out on their childish BS, they could do some serious damage,” wrote another.

Another commented: ‘Throwing an object from a car is a serious crime.’

Motorists in Queensland caught throwing objects from a vehicle that could cause injury could face a fine of up to $575 and two demerit points.

Throwing an object at a moving vehicle and placing an object in the path of a vehicle is also illegal under the Summary Offenses Act 2005.
