An allegedly stolen car was spotted by police along Surfers Paradise Boulevarde on the Gold Coast when the driver tried to escape about 8.40pm on Friday evening.

After police approached the car, the driver accelerated forward, knocking an officer to the ground.
Walking local residents filmed the short-lived escape, which ended when the vehicle collided with another vehicle in front of it.

The driver of the gray car, a 69-year-old woman, was also taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
A 16-year-old Labrador boy has since been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, acts intended to resist arrest and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
The other occupants of the vehicle were a 19-year-old Loganholme woman, a North Booval man aged 20, a 35-year-old Paradise Point man and a Nerang man.
All four adults were denied bail and are expected to appear in court on Saturday.
