Manchester City have been criticized for selling a small portion of fish and chips for £10 a pop.
The Premier League champions appear determined to reclaim their crown after thrashing Arsenal 4-1 on Wednesday.
But fans say something strange is going on with the pre-match meal served at the Etihad Stadium.
One of them broke the small container of cod snacks, a handful of crisps and a small jar of mushy peas that had been served before the fight with the Gunners.
This childish section was blown up by supporters.
Manchester City have been applauded for this tiny £10 serving of fish and chips to fans
A fan joked that the high price was to help pay for Erling Haaland (second from left) wages
Adrian Kesby commented, “Ten whole pounds for that?
“Well, I suppose they have to pay Haaland’s wages somehow.”
Chris Chapman added: ‘It actually looks like it’s a solid thing to eat.
“But much too small a portion for that price.”
One of them said, ‘It’s not technically fish and chips, is it?
“It’s cod nuggets/bits and chips.
Twitter users weighed in on portion size, wondering if it counted as ‘fish and chips’
‘And a tenner? That’s what you get in every chippy for six quid with more chips and bits of cod.’
Still, Rob Sowerby added: ‘It’s expensive, but City seem to be putting in a decent shot.’
The food was posted on the ‘Footy Scran’ social media account where footy fans from around the world rate different cuisines from football grounds.
It was reported earlier this week that Aston Villa had served raw chicken and chips to football fans who paid £11 for the privilege during their game against Fulham.
