Supermodels Irina Shayk and Cindy Crawford pen heartfelt tributes to late fashion designer Roberto Cavalli after his death at 83: ‘You will be missed’

Irina Shayk and Cindy Crawford are among the supermodels mourning the death of fashion designer Roberto Cavalli.

The legendary designer died on Friday at the age of 83 after a long illness.

“It is with great regret and great sadness that the Roberto Cavalli Maison participates in the passing of its founder Roberto Cavalli,” the company wrote in a statement.

“From humble beginnings in Florence, Mr. Cavalli has managed to become a globally recognized name loved and respected by all.”

Those who paid tribute to the fashion icon spoke of his talent and his kindness.

Shayk, 38, posted a photo of herself wearing a sheer black dress as the fashion icon wrapped his arm around her waist from what appeared to be an after-party.

“RIP @robertocavalli,” the catwalk beauty, was posted on social media.

Cindy Crawford, 58, shared throwback photos from previous work with Cavalli. One was from a red carpet event, the other from the catwalk.

“I’m so sorry to hear about the passing of my dear friend @roberto_cavalli. You will be missed,” she wrote on snap.

“He brought boldness and color to his fashion and I always felt beautiful wearing his art,” she wrote on the runway photo.

Cavalli was known for his love of using fur and animal prints in his designs.

‘I love the nature. Animals have the best dresses. God has made them so well dressed,” he explained his preference.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals finally convinced him to use only fake fur by 2022.
