Amber Valletta has spoken out about being the first to wear Versace’s iconic “jungle dress” before Jennifer Lopez “broke the internet” in the same ensemble the following year.

The 49-year-old discussed the silk chiffon dress during Vogue’s life in looks where she looked back at the most striking outfits from her entire career.

The supermodel revealed she wore the designer dress in 1999 before JLo rose to fame on the 2000 Grammys red carpet.

She also discussed the “infamous” Todd Oldham Spring/Summer show in which fellow model Shalom Harlow caused quite a stir when she overtook Amber on the catwalk.

Jennifer Lopez wore the same dress to the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards in 2000

In a video for Vogue, released earlier this week, Amber talked about the “infamous jungle dress” she wore in 1999.

“I wore it on the runway, then of course I did the campaign — and then JLo wore it to the Grammys,” she said.

Amber said the singer’s performance was a “huge iconic moment,” adding, “This dress has been Googled more times than any other look in history.”

Literally broke the internet when [JLo] wore it, so cool to be a part of that history, but I wore it first.”

And still in 2019, JLo was still referring to the statement print dress.

She received a standing ovation from the audience during the Versace Spring/Summer 2020 presentation at Milan Fashion Week when she recreated the look.

In the interview with Vogue, Amber also referred to her performance at the “infamous” Todd Oldham Spring/Summer show in 1995, which she labeled “such a funny moment in fashion.”

In the incident, fellow model Shalom Harlow overtook Amber at the end of the runway, which many believe signaled a breakup.

Amber also referenced her performance on the 'infamous' Todd Oldham Spring/Summer show in 1995, which sparked rumors of a split between her and fellow model Shalom Harlow (pictured together).

She revealed, “What’s funny is people like to make it into a drama, which is hilarious to me because it wasn’t a drama like that.”

Amber said Shalom walked the runway “extra cheeky,” before adding, “She felt that short skirt and suddenly she was in front of me at the end of the runway, which was obviously [we] normally don’t.

“We start walking back and I remember she said to me like ‘stay with me’ so obviously I’m walking as fast as I can because she’s walking at a breakneck pace and then she says ‘turn now.'”

The pair both posed and exchanged glances before heading backstage.

Amber admitted that she walked “extra slow” that day before blaming it “on the shoes.”

And despite the uproar, the duo remain good friends to this day.
