Period products rebates in Australia: How to get almost all your money back
Australians can now access generous discounts on sustainable, reusable menstrual products, with some shoppers able to get a 100 percent discount.
The discounts appear to have been launched with little fanfare; dozens of women admitted on social media that they had never heard of it.

Another said: ’50 dollars isn’t far for historical products, but recognition is a good start.’
Twenty-two council areas across Australia have launched the discounts to date, offering cash backs of between $50 and $130.
Hobson’s Bay Council in Victoria appears to be the most generous, offering a 100 per cent rebate, up to $130.
Other council areas offer discounts of 50 per cent, capped at $50.
Period panties can be purchased from major supermarkets from €12, with most also offering other options such as menstrual cups (from around €40) and reusable sanitary pads (from €17).
To qualify for the discount, you must live in a discount area.

You can find the Council’s discounts via the with discount website, which shows offers based on your address.
In NSW, residents of Blacktown, the Inner West council areas and Liverpool can get 50 per cent of their costs back – up to a maximum of $100.
While people in Waverly and Sutherland can get 50 per cent back, capped at $50, this includes those in Wagga Wagga in rural NSW.
In Victoria, Hobsons Bay residents get the most generous discount, followed by those in Ballarat who can get 50 per cent back, up to $100.
Shoppers on the Mornington Peninsula, Cardinia, Casey, Wyndham and Whittlesea can all get $50 off 50 percent off.
In Western Australia, residents of Augusta and Margaret River can get all their money back, up to $50.
While those in Fremantle, Melville, Victoria Park, Bassendean and Cockburn can get up to $50 back with a 50 per cent discount.
Holdfast Bay Council in South Australia, Hobart Council in Tasmania and Litchfield Council in the Northern Territory are all offering a 50 per cent discount of up to $50.
