Trader Joe’s has recalled food for the third time in a week and warned customers Friday that its fully cooked falafel product may contain stones.
The falafel was sold in stores in 34 states and Washington DC, the supermarket chain said.
It added that unsold boxes containing the item in its stores have already been destroyed.
“If you bought or donated fully cooked falafel, please don’t eat them,” Trader Joe’s said in its recall notice.
“We urge you to dispose of the product or return it to a Trader Joe’s for a full refund.”

The falafel recall came just four days after the company recalled two types of almond cookies because they may also contain stones.
The cookie recall affects Trader Joe’s Almond Windmill Cookies and the Dark Chocolate Chunk and Almond Cookies.
On Thursday, Trader Joe’s recalled some 11,000 cases of broccoli cheddar soup because the product “contains insects in the frozen broccoli florets.”
The product is being voluntarily recalled by the manufacturer, Winter Gardens Quality Foods of New Oxford, Pennsylvania, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
The soup was sold in Trader Joe’s stores in seven states: California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Texas and Washington.

The soup recall affects Trader Joe’s Unexpected Broccoli Cheddar Soup with “Use By” dates of July 18 to September 15, according to a Thursday announcement from the company.
In a statement on Friday, Trader Joe’s said it is proactive in notifying customers of potential issues with its products.
“We never leave the safety of the products we offer to chance. We play it safe and are proactive in tackling problems. We take prompt action, aggressively investigate potential problems and withdraw the product from sale if there is any doubt about its safety or quality,” the statement said.
“We don’t wait for regulators to tell us what to do. We share news through in-store boards, on our website, and through email alerts whenever we need to let our customers know that there may be a problem with one of our products. We take these matters seriously – even personally, as our families also eat and drink TJ’s products.”
