Renovations worth up to $500 million to the New Orleans Saints’ Superdome are expected to be completed in time for Super Bowl LIX, with the stadium also celebrating its 50th anniversary next year.

City officials said they plan to move forward with the arena’s makeover plans as New Orleans gets to grips with hosting the biggest annual sports competition in America next year.

The game will tie New Orleans with Miami for the record for most Super Bowls held at 11.

The renovation work is expected to be completed in July and already includes the construction of new escalators, bathrooms and walkways.

Last summer, work was done on the east side of the stadium before efforts were made to improve the west side of the building Sports business magazine And Fox 8 New Orleans.
