‘Supercomputer’ uses Strictly data to predict who will win the Glitter Ball Trophy – with much-loved couple set to ‘miss out’ on the top spot

A ‘supercomputer’ has predicted that a fan favorite may not win Strictly Come Dancing this year.

Comedian Chris McCausland, 47, who has led this series so far, could miss out on the Glitter Ball Trophy, according to data analysis.

Chris scored highly on the Strictly leaderboard with his professional dance partner Dianne Buswell, 35, until last week’s Halloween routine saw the pair tied for last place with a score of 26.

According to new data from BonusCodeBets.co.uk, it appears Chris is at a disadvantage as the winners tend to be 31-year-old actors, suggesting EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick will win the 2024 trophy.

In last week’s performance, Jamie scored a whopping 38 together with his dance partner Michelle Tsiakkas.

These details come after Chris made a joke to BBC producers after a last-minute change to the show’s timetable sent him into a panic.

The comedian appeared on Strictly’s spin-off show It Takes Two after becoming the first celebrity to hit the dance floor during Halloween week.

Chris and Dianne opened the show with a classic Samba to the Bee Gees’ 1970s disco tune Stayin’ Alive.

Discussing his performance, Fleur East, 37, asked the star if it was “nerve-wracking” being the first celebrity on the dancefloor, and he certainly didn’t seem happy.

He then hit out at show bosses, warning that he would ‘have words’ if he had to do it again.

TThe comedian joked: ‘It was terrible. I didn’t like going first and if they put me first again we’ll have words.’

The star claimed that being the first person to dance meant he lost valuable rehearsal time with his partner.

Chris stated, “My routine went out the window.”

‘Once people realize it at home, before you continue, you go over your dance in the small practice room. And then you go outside and do a dance.

‘When it’s your turn first [you] don’t understand anything about that. All you have to do is stand in line.

“And when you’re standing in line, you think, and the more I thought, the more I realized I didn’t know this dance, I panicked and I was blank.”

The star also made fun of judges Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke and Craig Revel Horwood, who claimed his routine had ‘too much bounce’.

After his performance on Saturday night, Shirley said: “I never thought I’d say anything about bounce in eight years, but you actually overcooked the bounce.”

Meanwhile, Anton said, “You probably bounced a little too much, it lacked a little fluidity.”

Craig added: “There was a bit of hopping in that Samba, which wasn’t great.”

He sarcastically joked, “I overcompensated with enthusiasm. And actually you shouldn’t be enthusiastic when you do a samba.’

‘You’re not allowed to have fun. I was having too much fun and was punished for it.’

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6.30pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
