Shoppers go wild over an unlikely $29 item from Supercheap Auto: ‘It’s the best thing they’ve ever stocked’

Australian beauty fans are flocking to Supercheap Auto stores to get their hands on the latest makeup must-have.

The trend, which defies expectations as the store is typically for car enthusiasts, started after a young woman posted a video showcasing the store’s toolbox range.

Pink toolboxes, they claimed, are perfect for storing makeup and beauty tools.

The $29.99 toolboxes are released every year around Christmas, but this is the first year that someone has made a different suggestion on how it can be used.

“Girls don’t walk and run into Supercheap,” the shopper raged.

And it seemed to spark a sense of urgency among her followers and thousands of others who saw the video.

‘I dragged my hubs to Supercheap for this. Now I have to wait until Christmas,” said another woman.

‘I want every color. But I have to settle for red for now,” said another.

“Oops, I just bought two,” said another.

But the viral video only added to the excitement, with customers confirming the pink had sold out locally.

“No, please, I work at super cheap and we have nothing left,” one woman begged.

“I just called and spoke to a girl who said, ‘Girl, listen, they went pink, worst case black,’” said another.

But due to its popularity, many were happy to wait for a replenishment.

“Say TikTok is ready and you have cash on you,” one woman said.

‘Agreed. I don’t need it right now, but I do need it,” said another.

The tool chests also come with a two-drawer top set, just like the original size ToolPro sets, which cost $24.99.

The toolbox is sold out in many stores in Australia

Those interested in the toolboxes said the young woman had to place a mirror on the top piece, exposing the top drawer.

The small tool boxes are 23 cm wide, 13 cm deep and 26 cm high, making them perfect for a sink.

But some people said they would use them as tools.

“I want one for my workshop,” said one woman.

“Just like I would put real tools in it,” said another.

Others said the company should ‘take a hint’ after the boxes sold out ‘instantly’.

“We want full-size pink toolboxes and pink tools too,” one woman said.

“I’m shocked they don’t have big pink toolboxes. People come to me all the time to have their toolboxes painted pink,” said another.

The video – which showed the young woman unpacking her mini toolbox – has been viewed more than 2.9 million times.
