New details have emerged about Apple’s highly anticipated iPhone 15 less than a month before the tech giant officially pulls back the curtain on the new device.
A leaker claims that the iPhone 15 supports charging speeds of up to 35W – significantly faster than its predecessor, the iPhone 14, which has a charging speed of just 20W.
This means that the upcoming smartphone can be charged from 0 to 100 percent in just one hour, saving precious time for users when they are in a hurry.
Experts agree that the iPhone 15 — reportedly unveiled on September 12 or 13 — will also feature a new USB-C charging port.
Apple is already selling a £69.00 35W USB-C power adapter that can be bundled with the flagship phone when it finally releases.

The news was revealed by 9to5Macciting “industry sources,” though it’s unclear if 35W charging will be supported by all iPhone 15 models.
Apple is expected to unveil four variants of the iPhone 15: the standard model, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
“According to people familiar with the matter, the iPhone 15 is said to support charging at up to 35W,” the report said.
“At least some of the new iPhone 15 models can be charged at up to 35W, which should enable even faster charging speeds on the new phones.”
35W (Watts) refers to the amount of power supplied to a phone’s battery, but if the phone doesn’t support the charging speed, it can’t charge faster and will just waste energy.
Since the iPhone 14 Pro is limited to 27W charging, it takes about two hours to fully charge – and plugging it into a 35W charger won’t speed up charging.
But an iPhone 15 that supports 35W will take less time – possibly just an hour to go from 0 to 100 percent.
However, this is still modest compared to some smartphones made by Apple’s smartphone rivals in Asia.
Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Ultra, for example, supports charging at up to 45W, allowing users to charge the battery from 0 to 100 percent in less than an hour.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Explorer is said to go from 0 to 100 percent in just nine minutes.

Apple has been contacted for comment on the rumor, though the tech giant is notoriously tight-lipped ahead of product releases.
Analysts and speakers generally agree that the iPhone 15 will be the first iPhone ever to feature a USB-C charging port.
Apple has made the switch from its proprietary charging design called Lightning, recognizable by its eight pins, to USB-C due to an EU law.
The new European legislation aims to make a single charging design the common standard – ultimately reducing the amount of electronic waste.
In fact, Apple was forced to make this design change because of the law (although technically it could have made iPhones with Lightning ports if they had been sold in non-EU countries).
Other details about Apple’s new flagship have gradually been leaked based on inside information and clues from “dummy units” (precise models given to third parties to design their phone accessories).
The iPhone 15 will reportedly have rounder edges, titanium frames instead of stainless steel, a smaller one bezel that goes around the edge (the “bezel”) and Dynamic Island on all four models.
It is not known how much iPhone 15 will cost, although analysts have said that the two most expensive models – iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max – will be more expensive than their predecessors.

An American leaker and Apple expert named Mark Gurman thinks Apple’s reveal event for the iPhone 15 will be in just over three weeks – on September 12 or 13.
He said he’s been told (by an unnamed source) that it will then go on sale on September 22, meaning Apple “gets about a week of iPhone 15 sales in its fiscal fourth quarter.”
Apple has been quiet about any unveiling event so far, though teaser promotions and invites could be sent out in a matter of days.
Fans will hope that Apple doesn’t have to delay the unveiling until October due to production problems, as one US analyst claimed.
