Natalie Barr from Sunrise reveals a genius tortilla recipe after she runs out of the store-bought kind
Sunrise host Natalie Barr shared her hack for a fun meal.
The TV veteran, 55, took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a recipe for homemade tortillas.
While filming the clip in her kitchen, Natalie said she decided to try and recreate the famous Mexican staple after she ran out of store-bought tortillas.
Using an American recipe she found on the internet, Natalie told her followers to use flour, salt, baking powder, butter and water as essential ingredients.
She then mixed the mixture which she then kneaded into a thick, heavy dough.

After the dough was cut, the pieces were soaked in water for half an hour, she said.
Natalie, who admitted in the video that she had never tried the recipe before, can then be seen removing the pieces and flattening the dough with a rolling pin.
Finally, Natalie heated the tortillas in a hot skillet for 30 seconds until browned.
At one point, the mother-of-two laughed at the labor-intensive recipe.
“I could have gone to the store,” she said.

Nat has gained a huge following after taking over the hosting duties of Sunrise following the departure of Samantha Armytage.

Natalie recently revealed her skincare regimen, including how she protects her face from the daily ravages of television makeup.
She said in the video that the worst thing about working for breakfast TV is “wear and tear on your face and hair.” Lots of makeup.’
She added that she has a “travel pack” that she takes assignments with, which includes a mini version of her favorite moisturizer.
Natalie previously told Yahoo! Lifestyle that she is the ‘fittest’ [she’s] ever been” after embracing a “back to basics” approach to her health.
“I exercise regularly, eat well most of the time, avoid sugar and make sure I get enough sleep,” she said.
Natalie revealed that her weekly fitness routine consisted of Pilates, Xtend Barre classes, walking and running.
