Sunrise’s ‘Man in Hollywood’ Nelson Aspen Marries Jonny After Nine Years Together
Showbiz reporter and author Nelson Aspen married his longtime partner Jonny in a low-key ceremony in New York.
The much-loved former Sunrise entertainment correspondent, who is based in the US, announced the happy news on his Instagram stories on Wednesday.
Nelson and Jonny, who have been together for 9 years, tied the knot in a courthouse ceremony.

The couple then celebrated with close friends at Robert De Niro’s upscale Manhattan steakhouse, Laconda Verde.
The famously witty TV star described the wedding as a ‘courtroom’ quickie, a reference to HBO’s hit Sex in the City.
In a moving message on his Instagram page, the handsome journalist praised local laws that allow gay marriage.

“Thank God that we live in a time and place where it is possible,” he said.
It included a series of sweet wedding photos in action.
In one, a delighted Nelson can be seen giving her new husband a kiss on the cheek during their wedding breakfast.
Another snapshot showed Nelson showing off his impressive wedding ring.
The couple then celebrated with close friends at Robert De Niro’s upscale Manhattan steakhouse, Laconda Verde.
Nelson announced her engagement to Jonny during a cabaret show in Perth in October 2022.
Nelson had traveled to WA for the Perth Telethon, which raised $71 million for sick children, and for a series of live shows to promote his new book.
“We’re planning a Carrie Bradshaw ‘quickie,'” Nelson said of her plans for the wedding, which she hopes will take place next year.

He told Daily Mail Australia that he and Jonny, who works in finance, were considering buying a house in Perth.
Nelson has his eyes specifically on the Elizabeth Quay development.
It comes after Nelson has opened the doors to his jaw-dropping penthouse in New York City, having spent the past two years building his dream home in the heart of Harlem.
Nelson, who stepped down as Sunrise’s entertainment correspondent in July after 19 years on the air, started from a blank canvas with no walls, windows or wiring after buying the plan in 2020.
