Sunrise star Sam Mac called out for cheeky post mocking his mother

Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac has been slammed by his fans after making fun of his mother Loretta’s photography skills.

The Channel Seven star shared a hilarious clip on Instagram of his mother snapping a photo of his fiancée Rebecca James on Sydney Harbour.

Loretta was hard at work getting an iPhone into position while taking some photos of her future daughter-in-law.

Sam then shared the photos his mother took, which were taken from a side angle with the mother-of-two at the edge of the frame.

He captioned the clip with some cheeky words: “These aren’t photos, they’re moments in time.

‘Harborside Humanity – soon a pop-up gallery exhibition by Loretta.’

Sam’s cheeky post quickly angered his followers, many of whom took to the comments section to slam him for making fun of his beloved mother.

“You leave Loretta alone. She’s doing her best!’ one person shot.

“Don’t be mean,” a second user wrote.

“Poor Loretta, wonderful mother who puts up with all your antics,” a third person interjected.

The The hilarious weatherman has built a reputation for his brutal behavior towards his parents.

In June, he shared a sweet, blurry photo of him and Loretta beaming at the camera and captioned it with a few funny words.

“Once again, Loretta selects portrait mode to make sure I’m a little blurry.”

In October 2023, Sam sent his fans into a frenzy after posting a cheeky video in which he revealed he treated his dad Sam Sr to a Paul McCartney concert – but not his mum.

The Sunrise weatherman posted the footage to Instagram, which shows him taking his parents to a bar called ‘SPM’, which he reveals stands for Sir Paul McCartney.

His mother was then seen getting excited about seeing the former Beatle at a concert in Sydney, before Sam dropped some heartbreaking news.

‘Sorry mom, you’re not coming. I’ll get you an Uber, it’s fine because you went to the Logies,” Sam tells her.

His disappointed mother was then seen helping his father celebrate his 70th birthday by watching the legendary singer perform.

“Loretta returned safely to the hotel in an Uber for a rare night of peace and quiet,” Sam began.

“Before you launch the Justice for Loretta movement, remember that I took her to the Logies in 2019 and she took a selfie with Delta.”
