It comes after Mark hit back at claims that David ‘Kochie’ Koch, 67, was ‘forced’ out of his Sunrise hosting gig because ‘his time was coming to an end’.

The sports reporter, 56, said the rumors were “absolute BS.”

Over the weekend, The Daily Telegraph reported that Kochie’s time on the top-rated breakfast show was “coming to an end.”

“He signed a contract knowing there was a clause in it that said he would leave the Sunrise chair by June at the latest, so he knew his time was coming to an end,” an insider reportedly told the publication.

Speak against yahoo lifestyle, Beretta said, “That’s absolute BS, it just didn’t play out that way, and Seven wouldn’t do that to him after all this time.”

“The reality is [Kochie] is a great artist and while he’s there the show is number one so that’s crazy.’

He added, “No one is pushing someone out who has a number one rating show. That irritated me enormously.’

Kochie revealed last Monday that he would be leaving Sunrise after 21 years in the top job

He said Kochie called him privately the Sunday before confirming the news live on air the following day.

He went on to describe the media veteran as “the ultimate mentor” and a “ripping dude.”

Kochie revealed last Monday that he would be leaving Sunrise after 21 years in the top job.

His last show is on Friday and Matt Shirvington, 44, will take over the reins next Monday as Sunrise co-host alongside Natalie Barr, 55.
