Sunrise star Mark Beretta splits with wife of 22 years

Mark Beretta and his wife Rachel have split after 22 years of marriage, sources have told Daily Mail Australia.

The Sunrise star and his ex-partner, who married in 2001, are said to have quietly split in recent months.

The couple, who met in 1999, have two children, daughter Ava, 18, who works as a baker, and son Dan, 15.

There were signs of trouble leading up to the news, with the couple putting their Mosman home on the market in February.

The sports reporter eventually sold their Balmoral Slopes home for $13 million. They had to settle for less than their initial expectations, dropping the price by $1.75 million.

The five-bedroom, three-bathroom haven struggled to attract potential buyers.

The Berettas later decided to drop an additional $750,000 before finally signing the deal in May.

The couple had spent the past few years renovating the Mandolong Road home, which they bought in 2016 for more than $6 million.

They are thought to have spent more than $900,000 renovating it, according to council records.

In September, Mark was spotted in a $275,000 high-performance black Maserati.

He was pictured leaving the Channel Seven studios in Eveleigh, Sydney, in his luxury vehicle.

While it’s unclear when he bought the expensive car, it could signal a new era of singledom for the popular TV host.

Mark has previously spoken fondly of his wife, describing how they fell in love after being set up on a blind date by friends.
