Sunrise host Matt Doran’s unforgivable act of error alongside co-host Monique Wright live on air: “I’m an elite jerk”

Sunrise presenter Matt Doran suffered an embarrassing on-air glitch during Channel Seven’s breakfast show on Thursday.

The 38-year-old managed to spray red cherry juice on co-host Monique Wright during a cooking segment, messing up her outfit.

Monique seemed mortified when Matt begged for forgiveness after making the unforgivable mistake.

Things got worse for Matt when MasterChef guest Courtney Roulston warned him to be careful with Monique’s top.

“I’m so sorry,” Matt said blushing, before adding, “I’m like an elite jerk.”

A behind-the-scenes video showed Matt trying to rescue the situation with stain remover and a towel, despite being warned by his co-host that nothing “takes the cherry off.”

Later, Matt was seen trying to save face by suggesting that Monique could cover up the stain with the long tie from her outfit.

Admitting to Monique that “there was never a time when I was so shy,” her co-host seemed surprised, asking, “Why?”

Known for their hilarious on-air feuds, Monique and Matt share regular co-hosting duties on Weekend Sunrise and currently fill in for David Koch and Natalie Barr over the Christmas break.

Sunrise executive producer Sean Power said Seven was delighted to add seasoned professionals to the ranks, reports tv black box.

“Mylee has earned a stellar reputation for her professionalism, passion and tenacity,” he said in a statement.

In August, Seven once again declared Sunrise Australia’s top-rated breakfast show for 2022.

The morning show was number one in its time slot for the 19th consecutive year.

Later, Matt was seen trying to save face by suggesting that Monique could cover up the stain with the long tie from her outfit.
