Sunrise host and property flipper Edwina Bartholomew buys stunning 177-year-old country hotel in rural NSW to renovate and reopen for business with her husband

Sunrise presenter Edwina Bartholomew has bought a 177-year-old country hotel in rural NSW after selling her home in western Sydney for $2.1 million in March.

The 39-year-old newsreader-turned-property shared a video on Instagram on Sunday showing off her new property in Carcoar, 160 miles west of Sydney.

Known as “The Victoria Hotel,” Bartholomew’s property was built in 1846, and she has plans to renovate it so it can one day reopen for business.

The video was shot in the two-storey historic building with its stunning architectural design, including a beautiful balcony and patio doors.

She captioned the images with some exciting words.

‘In 1846 it was built on the banks of the Belubula River in Carcoar. 177 years later, on the same land, The Victoria returns to welcome a new generation of guests,” she wrote.

“Reopening 2025 (with lots of Fawlty Towers updates from time to time),” she added.

In March, Bartholomew announced that she and husband Neil Varcoe had found a buyer for their renovated three-bedroom, two-bathroom property in central Sydney.

She posted a photo on Instagram of the ‘for sale’ sign outside the house with a huge ‘sold’ sticker pasted on it.

‘Our beautiful cottage is now the home of another couple. Let the next renovation adventure (again) begin,” she wrote.

She previously said she hadn’t originally planned to sell the 1880s stone house, but the couple decided to let it go after finding another renovation project.

“We found this other project that we want to tackle and it feels good,” she shared Vastgoed.com.au.

Bartholomew, who shares daughter Molly, two, and one-year-old son Tom, with husband Neil, a former executive at Twitter Australia, said moving had been difficult for her.

“I get emotional when I think about everything that happened in this house. This is where we started our family. It’s such a special place that we love so much,” she said.

“Reopening 2025 (with lots of Fawlty Towers updates to come between now and then),” she told her fans
