Heavily armed police officers stormed a Brisbane home after a routine wellness check turned into an hour-long siege.
Queensland Police made an emergency declaration shortly after 1pm on Friday after attending a house on Bradman St in Sunnybank Hills.
Negotiators rushed to the location after reports that a man and a woman were hiding inside the property.
Police allege that a 25-year-old man armed with a knife held a 26-year-old woman captive for four hours.

The officers spoke to the couple before specialized police stormed the house around 4pm local time.
The emergency declaration was revoked by police when the man was taken into custody.
He is currently being treated for non-life-threatening injuries and is assisting police with their investigations into the incident.
Paramedics were seen at the home with a person being carried on a stretcher with the 26-year-old woman transported to hospital for observation.

The home’s owner, Theresa Avison, who sublets a room in the house, told the Courier Mail that she was worried about the people inside.
“There are no words to describe my feeling,” he said.
