Summer House star West Wilson reveals his tips for dressing well on a first date – and explains what he REALLY thinks of his castmates’ outfits
West Wilson, the new star of Bravo’s Summer House, has revealed his top tips for impressing on a first date — including what he really thinks about his castmates’ clothes.
Wilson, 28, joined the cast for the show’s eighth season this year and has already become a fan favorite, while sparking a romance with fellow co-star Ciara Miller.
The show documents a group of friends living in a shared house in The Hamptons and New York City during the summer.
And while I recently spoke with Bravo’s The daily dishWilson explained how his veteran co-stars, Kyle Cooke and Carl Radke, had a strange way of influencing — or should we say, de-influencing — his style?

During the interview, Wilson also gave suggestions on how to dress well for a first date, like the one he took with costar Ciara Miller (above)
“Kyle and Carl, no offense to them, they’re old guys,” Wilson told the outlet.
“They look very New York,” he continued. ‘Loafers, white trousers, v-necks, buttons all the time.’
The new star explained that he wanted to make sure he dressed differently from Cooke and Radke last summer.
Wilson described his own personal style as ‘subtly cool’ and ‘baggy hipster’.
‘[It] It was important for me to stand out in the way I dress this summer,” Wilson said.
“So whether that was Jordans or a baggy T-shirt… That’s how I approached it: to make sure I wasn’t dressing like Kyle or Carl.”
So far this season of the show, Wilson has worn a number of unique outfits, including granny-style floral pants, camo sweatshirts, and Birkenstocks.
His fun style has already caught the attention of Supreme Management model Miller, who was the star’s love interest in the house this season.
“Kyle and Carl, no offense, they’re old guys,” Wilson told The Daily Dish. “They seem very New York. Loafers, white pants, v-necks, buttons all the time’
Wilson said he didn’t want to dress like Cooke (above) or even Radke, two Summer House veterans
Both Radke and Cooke have appeared since the first season of Summer House, which premiered in 2017
The two have been spending a lot of time together while at home, even seeing each other during the week in New York City.
In the most recent episode, Miller even called Wilson her “cool boyfriend” — even though the two haven’t officially put a label on their relationship.
While their current relationship status remains unclear, Wilson did offer some advice on how to dress well for a first date during his conversation with The Daily Dish.
‘She’s already sat on your Hinge. She knows what you look like. Or she’s already seen you,” he explained.
“The first date is about getting to know someone, so don’t wear stupid things that hold you back,” Wilson continued.
He told the outlet that it’s better to stick to what you know when meeting someone for the first time.
‘Keep it subtle. Wear your staples. It can be a collar or a nice T-shirt. Don’t do anything stupid,” the Summer House Hunk offered.
During the interview, he also highlighted a fashion tip he got from his father, which was to focus on one part of your outfit, such as wearing patterned pants and a neutral top.

While Wilson and Miller’s relationship has been a topic of discussion this season of Summer House, so have Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard’s.
The couple, who have been friends for eight years, started dating in 2021 and were engaged in August 2022.
The two broke off their engagement in August and then their wedding, which was scheduled for November 2023 in Mexico.
The camera captured the two’s many fights, including when Radke’s stepfather, an ordained minister, admitted he wouldn’t have married the couple at that time in the summer.
Their breakup took place on camera, with Radke telling her he wanted to call off the engagement.
The conversation will air on Summer House later this season.
“It was absolutely humiliating,” Hubbard said of the breakup during an interview with We weekly last fall.
“It would have been one thing if this conversation happened during the summer during the normal filming schedule. But for [Carl] to call up producers and then set up cameras and manipulate me into sitting down [so he could break up with me] after we had already packed up is scary,” she said.
“The whole world found out within 30 minutes of me.”
