Summer House exes Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard will BOTH return for Season 9… despite messy breakup last season

Just weeks after the explosive ending of Summer House season 8, which saw the deteriorating relationship between Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard, it has been announced that the exes are both returning for season 9.

Production on Season 9 will begin over the Fourth of July weekend in Water Mill, New York. Variety confirms that both Radke, 39, and Hubbard, 37, are returning.

Both Radke and Hubbard are two of three cast members who have starred in all nine seasons, along with Kyle Cooke. The failed engagement won’t derail their run.

They first started dating in early 2022, with Radke proposing on camera later that year during the show’s seventh season.

They were supposed to tie the knot in Mexico last November, but in August it was widely reported that the couple had split and that the breakup was filmed during the production of season 8.

The couple’s ongoing bickering was caught on camera, with Hubbard even questioning Radke’s sobriety after quitting drinking in 2021.

Carl criticized Lindsay’s derogatory comments, saying he thought she was trying to encourage him to back down and get back on the right path.

Hubbard spoke openly about the relationship in an interview with Glamour in which she said it felt like she had dodged a “huge bullet.”

“I’m really, really grateful that the universe, or God, or whatever higher being you believe in, stepped in and saved me from a very long, hard, rough life that was ahead of me. And because of that, I learned a lot from a very traumatic experience, and I feel like I learned a lot about what I’m not going to do in my future, especially in my romantic life,” she said.

She even admitted that she wasn’t “nervous” about filming with Carl, adding, “It’s been almost a year since we broke up, and I’ve been healing a lot. I’m still healing in different ways, of course, but I’m just so glad I’m not in that.”

She said she would stay at Summer House “until I was 100,” adding, “Despite all the challenges my ex and I had last summer, it was a really fun summer.”

“I’ve had a really good time with the girls, and it makes me excited for next summer because I still have a great relationship with all of them and the new guys, West and Jesse. I think it’s been a really good dynamic with this cast,” she said.

Radke admitted at the end of May New York Times interview that he was “not proud of the way I handled the situation and how I treated her.”

“I mean, I was obviously frustrated and I wish I had been more direct,” he added.

Radke continued that during that exchange, viewers can “clearly see [him] difficulty communicating [his] feelings.’

He said the fault was his, even though viewers saw him blame his ex-fiancée during the eighth episode of the season when they had a fight.

“That’s not her fault,” he said before the reunion. “That’s my fault.”

“I see myself blaming and playing the victim, but I don’t want to be that,” he continued.

During the eighth season episodes, viewers watched the rift in their relationship grow until they announced they had called off their engagement in August 2023 – just two and a half months before their wedding.
