Suki Waterhouse has revealed the backstage drama at Taylor Swift’s Wembley show that nearly ruined her performance.
The new mother, 32, was opening for the superstar at one of her London shows this month, but unbeknownst to the 90,000 in attendance, chaos broke out behind the scenes due to an outfit problem.
Speaking with The Times Speaking about the experience, Suki said she absolutely wanted an outfit with “huge sleeves” and enlisted French fashion house Chloé to create a dress for her.
However, the dress was not collected before the show and on the day Suki was scheduled to perform, Chloé was closed, leading to drastic measures.
Suki recalled: ‘One of my managers gave a doorman £500 to come in and get the dress. I think there was literally 140 [phone] calls.’

Luckily, the dress arrived to Suki less than two hours before her performance, while Suki was kept in the dark by her management until then. ‘because I was already stressed’.
Suki also revealed that she was asked to open for her friend last year, sharing: ‘Taylor mentioned it at dinner a year ago. I didn’t know if it was real.
‘But that’s the thing about her: I should have known, she’s always making plans. When she says something, she’s going to do it.’
The doppelgangers have been best friends since 2016, when they were photographed in matching outfits. They even went on a double date with Suki’s fiancé Robert Pattinson and Taylor’s then-boyfriend Joe Alwyn.
After the show, Suki shared the following on Instagram: ‘Last time I was at Wembley I danced my ass off on the Reputation tour! Never did I think I’d be here next time supporting my favourite artist with my friends and family in the audience.’

Opening for Taylor, Suki has been preparing for her own shows and next month she will embark on a 27-concert tour of North America.

This tour will be different from others, however, as she will be taking her five-month-old daughter, who she shares with Robert. Her daughter’s name has not been released.
She mused, ‘I’m actually really excited about [taking her on the tour bus]. I know that sounds crazy. But that’s really me. I didn’t have a baby to say, “Oh, I’m just going to leave her home for five weeks.” That’s not even an option. I’m absolutely obsessed with being with my baby, so I would never [leave her].
Still, she has no illusions that it will be a battle, so Robert will do her part if necessary.
She explained, “If things get crazy and I think the baby needs a break, her dad comes and gets her and she goes and hangs out on set with him. You just make it work.”
