Patrick J Adams was ‘so self-conscious and insecure’ about his performance in Suits that he could only just watch it for the first time.
The 43-year-old actor played Mike Ross in the critically acclaimed legal drama, which ran for nine seasons from 2011 to 2019, and starred opposite Meghan Markle who played his on-screen wife Rachel Zane.
In a new interview, Patrick confessed that he wasn’t able to tune into the USA Network series at the time it aired due to his own insecurities.
But when Suits had a sudden resurgence in 2023, he was finally able to confront his inner demons.
Patrick said: ‘I haven’t looked into it at all because I was so self-conscious and insecure all the time, so I’m just letting that be in the past.

“There was a certain denial in that process of not facing it, of just wanting it to be in the rearview mirror.
“The best days of my life were on that show, and then, as always over the course of the better part of a decade, there were some really hard days — and I didn’t want to think about any of it.”
He kept doing that The Hollywood Reporter: ‘For the show to be so successful and revived, and for people to be so involved again and stop us in the streets – it made me realize that I had to turn around and really look this thing in the face.
‘I have to appreciate it. I have to work through it. And what better way to get through a show than watching it? That’s a good start.’
Last month, Patrick launched the Suits podcast Sidebar with his fellow costar Sarah Rafferty, 51, who played no-nonsense assistant Donna Paulsen.
The podcast is “dedicated to revisiting and breaking down” the hit legal drama, with “special guests starring both in front of and behind the camera.”
Patrick previously revealed that Meghan sent a heartwarming message of support after sharing the news.
“She’s living a very different life now for obvious and important reasons,” he said while answering fans’ questions on Reddit.

“But then I heard about the podcast. I received a sweet text message telling me how excited she was for us and asking how she could help.
‘So nice to still have so much support and friendship after so many years.’
The Duchess will likely have had plenty of advice to give the couple, having launched her own podcast called Archetypes on Spotify in August 2022.
A spin-off of Suits, titled Suits: LA, is currently in production after the show became extremely popular last year.
The new series will star Stephen Amell as Ted Black, a popular Los Angeles attorney who was once a federal prosecutor in New York City.
Josh McDermitt, Lex Scott Davis and Bryan Greenberg will also star.
