Sugar daddy link in murder of Texas student, 21, found shot ‘execution style’ in her apartment

A man accused of killing a 21-year-old Texas college student may have visited “Sugar Daddy” websites in the past, court documents show.

Bobby Singh Shah, 51, was arrested Wednesday during a traffic stop in the murder of Nepalese Muna Pandey, who was found dead in her southwest Houston apartment over the weekend.

Shah was arrested after police released surveillance footage of the suspect leaving Pandey’s apartment on Saturday and received several tips.

Court documents reviewed by ABC13 reveal that a woman told police she immediately recognized Shah as a man she met 12 years ago through a “Sugar Daddy” site.

Pandey, who lived alone, had a problem with a stalker last year, prompting several of her friends to tell authorities that she had a camera installed at her front door.

According to police, the footage from the night of the murder shows the same man with a gun while Pandey holds several items, including her black purse. The man allegedly repeatedly told Pandey to open her apartment door.

Pandey allegedly said, “What are you going to do?” before the man opened the slide of his firearm, pushed her inside and locked the door behind them.

Employees of the apartment complex made the gruesome discovery after receiving a phone call from an anonymous man.

Police suspect that Pandey knew her attacker, as no traces of a break-in or a botched robbery were found.

They also believe that whoever killed her has her cell phone, but it has not been found yet. Pandey’s friends told police that her phone stopped registering her location after Saturday.

Pandey attended classes at Houston Community College and worked at a local phone store.

Muna’s former roommate Orusha Niraula wrote in a Facebook post: ‘We demand justice for Muna Pandey, my dear friend and former roommate, who tragically passed away from us.

“She was shot in her own home in Houston… the pain of losing her in such a violent manner is unbearable.”

Niraula added that the nursing student had been “like a sister to her.” [her],’ and was always ‘full of life, kindness and joy.

“Her cheerful personality and infectious laugh brightened every moment.”

Muna is the second college student found murdered in Houston this week.

Andrea Rodriguez Avila, a junior at Rice University, was found dead in her dorm room with her boyfriend less than an hour earlier. Police said Avila was the victim of a murder-suicide.
