Connor Roy (Alan Ruck) and fiancé Willa (Justine Lupe) tie the knot in the third episode of the fourth and final season of HBO’s Succession.
Willa seemed hesitant to tie the knot with the eccentric Connor, the eldest of Logan Roy’s (Brian Cox) children.
The trailer revealed that Connor was “nervous” about whether or not his father Logan would show up at the wedding.
Meanwhile, Roman (Kieran Culkin) seems to have doubts about a new partnership with his father Logan.
Logan called Roman to his home at the end of last week’s episode and told his son that he needed him to finalize the deal with Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgard).

Logan: Willa seemed to have second thoughts about tying the knot with the eccentric Connor, the eldest of Logan Roy’s (Brian Cox) children
The episode opens with Roman being driven when he receives a call from Logan, who says he thinks Roman should come and see the suite.
Roman says it’s Connor’s wedding and Roman wonders if he’s going to the wedding, but Logan isn’t sure.
Logan tells Roman he is considering firing Gerri (J. Smith Cameron) and asks Roman to tell her.
“I mean, are you with me? You weren’t just fucking me,” Logan asks, as Roman insists he is, and Roman tells him to tell Gerri today.
Greg receives a call from Tom, who tells him that Logan finds Greg, “visually aggravating,” as Tom says he has new “little Greg’s.”
Willa tells a woman that the wedding wasn’t quite as they expected, though she doesn’t specify.
Logan asks Tom what he has on Matsson, with Tom saying he’s playing hard, but he thinks the deal will still be done.
“I think today is the day I talk to Cyd and Gerri, to find out when he’s ready,” Logan tells Tom.
“Clear the stalls, aggressive refocus,” Logan says as he boards his private jet with Tom as the title sequence begins.
Shiv goes to talk to Roman, who says the wedding is a “sham” and the “death of romance.”
Tom calls Roman and asks if he has told Gerri yet but he says he has not and she is not there yet but she is here with her husband.
Roman tells Gerri to have a chat as soon as they set sail, revealing it to be a message from Logan.
Gerri realizes she is being let go and she is clearly upset, saying she danced them through a thunderstorm without getting wet before storming off.
Roman calls Logan and says it was “terrible” with Gerri, adding that he doesn’t quite agree that he’s using him this way.
Kendall (Jeremy Strong) arrives as they board the boat and finds Willa, who says Connor is ‘fixed’ on the cake, saying it’s a ‘looney cake’.
Kendall says, “When they told Connor’s mom, you know… was going into mental health, they gave him pie.”
“Dad and whoever, just to calm him down. You know, a little sugar, a piece of cake. So he was eating Victoria sponge for a week,” Kendall added.
Greg goes to congratulate Kendall and Shiv, but they blow him off when they go to find Connor.
Connor says Logan will be coming down the wharf and he wants them to stay upstairs when he gets there.
Shiv tells them to tell Connor that Logan isn’t really coming as Roman gets a call from Tom, who says their dad is ‘really ill’, but the call keeps getting cut off.
Tom says it’s “really bad,” adding that he was “short of breath and went to the bathroom” and someone “broke in” to get him.
Tom says they’re doing “chest compressions,” which panics Kendall and Roman, while Frank says he’s “not in great shape.”
Frank says he doesn’t think he’s breathing as Kendall and Roman panic even more.
While the Roy kids were at odds throughout most of the series, the last few episodes of season 3 found them finally joining forces to stop their father Logan from selling the family’s media conglomerate.
Little did they know that the black sheep of the family Tom Wambsgans (Matthew McFadyen) betrayed his own wife Shiv and informed Logan of what they were doing, giving him enough to remove their power to block the impending sale .
The final shots of Season 3 seemed to indicate that Shiv realized her husband had betrayed her, though it’s unclear how that will play out in Season 4.
Successor Jesse Armstrong first confirmed that season 4 will be the end of the show in an extensive interview with The New Yorker, where he was asked why he decided to confirm the final season before it debuted.
“First, we could have said it as soon as I made up my mind, almost as we were writing it, which I think would be weird and perverted,” Armstrong began.
“We could have said it at the end of the season. I kind of like that idea, creatively speaking, because then the audience can just enjoy everything as it comes, without trying to figure things out or perceive things a certain way once they know it’s the final season, he added.
“But also the counterintuitive is that we don’t hide the ball very much on the show. I feel a responsibility to the viewing public and I personally wouldn’t like to feel like, ‘Oh, that’s it, guys. That was the end.” I wouldn’t like that in a show. I think I’d like to know it’s coming to an end,” he clarified.
He added, “And there’s a lot of prosaic stuff too, like it might be weird for me and the cast when we do interviews.” It’s pretty definitively the end, so it might be uncomfortable to have to feign about it like a politician for ages. Hopefully the show is against bullshit, and I wouldn’t like to make fun of anyone when I talk about it.”
