Succession billionaire Roman Roy wore a $13 KIDS top in gripping finale

WHEN was Roman in a Walmart?

Follow-up fans were hysterical during the harrowing season finale when they saw billionaire Roman Roy wearing a $7 kid’s top.

During Sunday’s episode, the dashing businessman was recovering from the emotional turmoil of his father’s funeral at his mother’s vacation home when he was visited by siblings Kendall and Shiv.

While Shiv had just changed into a $3,000 Alexander McQueen power suit and Kendall was rocking a $750 Jacques Marie Mage pair of sunglasses, Roman’s look was decidedly less chic.

Roy’s middle child shocked viewers when he deviated from his typical tight suits in favor of a baby blue kid’s top from budget chain Walmart, with a price tag of just $13.96 for a pack of two.

But while fans were surprised by the unusual outfit choice, they were elated that they could finally dress like the billionaire family and rushed to buy the item, leaving it sold out in most sizes.

Amused viewers shared on social media: ‘I can finally dress like a Roy’; “WHEN was Roman in a Walmart”; “100% showed up in a suit, so they sent the help to get something for him.

‘Great, can’t wait to do that’; ‘…is this the cheapest thing anyone has ever worn in a row?’; “It just felt wrong to see him dressed like a normal person.”

Others commented that the use of children’s clothes was undoubtedly intended to reflect Roman’s frail condition, writing, “this was a very fitting choice for baby Roman”; “This T-shirt made him look like a kid, and I know that was the intention.”

This isn’t the first time an outfit on Succession has baffled the internet.

During the season four premiere, viewers were divided over the “ridiculously roomy” Burberry bag worn by cousin Greg’s date Bridget at Logan’s birthday party.

In the scene, Tom Wambsgans makes comments about Bridget’s large Burberry tote bag – the flashy item was a social faux pas at the high society event.

Tom speaks to Greg about the accessory and jokes, “What’s even in that, huh?” Flat shoes for the subway? Her packed lunch?

“I mean, Greg, it’s monstrous. It’s gigantic. You could camp with it. You could slide it across the floor after a bank job.’

Since the episode aired, Google searches for “Burberry Tote Bag” have increased by more than 300%.

The handbag scene and Tom’s quote have been clipped and shared thousands of times on social media and became the standout gag from the first episode of the new series.

Among the gags being made are people photoshopping the bag into other movie scenes, including excerpts from The Devil Wears Prada, and using Tom’s quote to refer to other well-known bags.

Author Bolu Babalola, who attended the premiere of the new series, tweeted that the show’s creator, Jesse Armstrong, had been thinking about what handbag they would choose for Bridget who was out of place.

Jess reportedly said the show’s writers interviewed a wealthy woman in New York City to ask what design would be the “tackiest” possible choice for someone trying to fit into a billionaire family.

Other fans pointed out that maybe Bridget’s Sandro floral print dress was also an indication of her class, as it’s a brand that’s expensive for most middle-class people. However, for the 1 percent, it would be considered cheap and very affordable.

Stylist Rochelle White has previously told FEMAIL that flashy prints and logos that show one’s wealth are indicative of “new money” clothes.

Rochelle added that people who come from “old money” will also wear items from luxury brands, but the logos will be less noticeable.
