An elementary school student has suffered severe burns to his back following a horrific act of bullying by a teenage girl at a school parent’s evening.
Noah Clyde, 10, told a joke to the girl from Blacktown Youth College, in Western Sydney, when the 16-year-old poured a cup of boiling water over his back.
Noah was immediately given a cold shower by the teachers until the ambulance arrived, but the boy has suffered massive burns to his lower back that are expected to take two months to heal.
His mother, Tessa Hennings, said that while the incident has been captured on CCTV, no charges will be brought and the girl has been told to stay home from school.
“We were just at the girl’s high school for parent-teacher talks,” she recalled Seven news. “The next moment we heard Noah yelling.”
Noah’s sister, Meredith, was the first to come to his rescue, saying she “lifted his shirt and realized the skin was burning.”
Ms Hennings claims to have confronted the teenager before contacting police to make a complaint.
“I said, ‘Were you the one who hurt my child? She said “no…” just didn’t say anything, said Mrs. Hennings.
“Then I called the police because this wasn’t right.”
The mother said officers had told her the situation could no longer continue due to the Child Penal Code.

The Children’s Criminal Act states that a child should not be subject to criminal charges except under specific circumstances.
One of those circumstances includes the ‘violent nature of the crime’.
Police investigated the incident and interviewed the teenager, who apologized for her actions.
“He said ‘this is what I get for making friends,'” Ms Hennings said.
