Stuart Margolin has passed away at 82 from natural causes
The acting world is in mourning with the passing of two-time Emmy Award-winning actor Stuart Margolin on Monday at the age of 82.
The actor’s stepson, actor Max Martini (The Tender Bar), paid tribute to Margolin on Monday in a moving Instagram post.
Another stepson, Christopher Martini, confirmed to the hollywood reporter who passed away of natural causes in Staunton, Virginia.

Max shared a framed photo of Stuart in his Instagram post, revealing how special his stepdad was to him.
“The two most profound moments of my life…the birth of my children and being at the bedside when my stepfather passed away this morning,” Max began.
‘My mother, my brother and I holding hands. All the time between birth and death, life, is up to us to fill it with equally profound moments,’ she added.

Still, it made me realize how much time I’ve wasted on things that were never going to amount to anything. Just a deep understanding that I thought I’d share,” Max said.

Stuart Margolin was born on January 31, 1940, in Davenport, Iowa, although his family moved to Texas at a young age and he was sent to a boarding school in Tennessee after what he described as a “thug” childhood.

After boarding school, he joined his family in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he graduated from high school, before following his friend Barney Brown, who mentored Dustin Hoffman, Gene Hackman, and Robert Duvall, to California.
He began his acting career only a few years later, appearing on The Gertrude Berg Show in 1961 and had guest-starring roles on shows like The Fugitive, 12 O’Clock High, The Monkees, Bewitched, and more.
She also appeared in the 1970 classic Kelly’s Heroes, the same year she met the actor who would become her lifelong friend, James Garner.
Acting Career: He began his acting career just a few years later, appearing on The Gertrude Berg Show in 1961 and had guest-starring roles on shows like The Fugitive, 12 O’Clock High, The Monkees, Bewitched, and more.
Garner revealed in his 2011 memoir The Garner Files that he discovered Margolin in a clip from Love, American Style, and decided to cast him as his partner in the 1971 Nichols series.
“I was sought after as a young character actor and comedian until I had the choice to be on The Mary Tyler Moore Show or Nichols with Jim Garner. I chose to work with Jim Garner because I thought I would have more fun, which I never regretted,” Margolin said in a 2017 interview.
While Nichols only lasted one season, they would reunite on The Rockford Files, which ran from 1974 to 1979, with Margolin playing Angel Martin.
