Sex worker exposes huge problem with Aussie culture – and why it’s much better to work in the US
A sex worker has revealed she once earned $15 in one night as a stripper, blaming Australia’s lack of tipping culture for the paltry amount.
The woman, who lives in Sydney and goes by her stage name Snowy Alaska, announced this to comedian Benjamin ‘Frenchy’ French during the ‘Frenchy Show’.
“The lowest I’ve ever made as a stripper is $15,” she said.
The figure is drastically smaller than the thousands of dollars strippers claim to make in one night – with one saying she made almost $2,000 from one service.
Alaska explained that it was not unusual to make so little money, and said Australia did not have the same tipping culture as the US.
The Sydney-based woman who goes by her stage name Snowy Alaska (pictured) said she earned the meager amount while dancing at a club during a shift one night
“There will be a girl dancing on stage, and no one will tip,” she said.
‘It’s completely different in Australia. There is a big tipping culture in America. Like giving a tip to your waiter. In Australia it is not common to spend money this way.
‘So it’s even unnatural to see people doing it. Some are good, but you find that a lot of men just don’t want to spend the money.’
Customers in Australia typically do not pay a tip, unlike in the US, where a 20 percent gratuity is added on top of the cost of the service.
Alaska’s admission left the host absolutely stunned as he revealed he earned more money working as a football referee at a children’s match.
“The busker out front gets more than that,” Mr French said.
Alaska revealed that her salary increased dramatically and she made as much as $2,500 in one night after switching careers in the sex industry.
“That was only because of massages and bookings,” she said.
Alaska said she decided to start making money offering massages after meeting a group of men who told her she would make more money.

A stripper with her stage name Lana (pictured) previously boasted that she made $1,795 in one night
“They sold me on the party bookings. They are a great way to make money,” she said.
The adult entertainer now offers personalized services to clients, including “naughty video calls” or “custom video requests.”
A stripper known by her stage name Lana said that earned $1,795 in one night.
Lana, from Newcastle on the NSW central coast, documented her first work trip to Sydney in 2022.
She earned only $10 for her first “stage set,” but was then “taken for a lap dance,” where she earned another $100.
Lana ‘did a few more lap dances’ and was then booked into ‘the diamond room’ for an hour.
Lana earned a total of $1,195 from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. before leaving the club for a private job nearby.
