Uh oh: Strictly Come Dancing’s Kaye Adams has revealed that performing ‘sultry’ dance moves on the show will ‘test her to the limit’

When asked what she thought would be her biggest challenge on Strictly, Kaye confided that it was her insecurities on the dance floor, having always thought she was a “reserved person” and a bad dancer.

She explained: “I just need to loosen up a bit. I mean, it’s the irony of a licentious woman. I’ve always been a pretty reserved person. I told myself that I’ve been a worthless dancer for 40 years and that sinks in and so you have that image of yourself.’

At the thought of embracing her sexier side on the dance floor, she continued, “I think it’s the dances that really need me to go way out of my comfort zone.

Fear of the dance floor: Kaye told how to ‘break away’ after convincing herself she was a ‘garbage’ dancer for over 40 years

“I mean, everything will be out of my comfort zone, but some of it will be like going to the North Pole in a pair of flip flops! So I think the Paso Doble and all that kind of shaky, sultry stuff will test me to the limit.”

One drive for the star to really embrace the Strictly experience was that she was able to dispel any doubts she had that she wasn’t the right age to participate, and Kaye added that she was always jealous of those who could move well.

She said, ‘Well, this is the last year of my fifties. It would be easy to say no and you go through all these doubts in your head.

Admission: The broadcaster also admitted that she signed up to shake off all the negativity about her age, admitting that as she approached 60, it would be easy for her to turn down the program

“And then you think Strict is a phenomenon, and it’s loved by everyone. It’s an incredible experience. Even though I can’t dance, I’ve always had a little something in the back of my mind when I see people dancing, and I’m jealous of that to a degree.”

She continued: ‘When you’re offered something like that, you either think to yourself, ‘Why would I do that? Or do you think to yourself, why shouldn’t I? And I fell to the side of why shouldn’t I, and here I am.’

The Scottish presenter will follow in the footsteps of several of her Loose Women co-stars, who have offered tips for her time on the show.

Kaye said; “I’ve had a lot of great advice from my Loose Women colleagues, Ruth Langsford advised me to have a ‘ladies’ bag’ at rehearsals because ‘it can get a little sweaty’.

“Judi Love, Sunetra Sarker, Katie Piper, Gloria Hunniford and Frankie Bridge were great too, but what they all agree on is that the most important thing is to enjoy every moment!”
