Strictly’s Amy Dowden enjoys a sweet brunch date with her husband as she debuts stunning new wig after shaving her hair

Amy Dowden enjoyed a sweet date with her husband Ben on Wednesday as she debuted a new wig after shaving off her hair amid her cancer diagnosis.

The Strictly Come Dancing pro, 33, was told she had breast cancer in May and underwent a mastectomy before doctors revealed she was also battling another form of cancer and would need further treatment.

Ben, who has been supporting Amy throughout her treatment, treated Amy to food on Wednesday morning and the dancer shared several photos on Instagram.

Smiling as she enjoyed a smoothie, she looked stunning in tousled strawberry hair.

Amy completed her autumn look with a floral dress and a black knitted headband, which covered her coat.

Glittering star Amy returned to Strictly for one night only last Saturday to support her co-stars in her first TV appearance since shaving her head following chemotherapy.

She previously revealed that she would cry herself to sleep at night as she watched her hair fall onto her pillow.

Last month, she shared a heartbreaking video of herself being shaved by loved ones.

The star broke down in tears before embracing the brave step she took while looking at herself in the mirror.

Amy said that although it was difficult, it was empowering to take control and she now looks forward to her hair growing back rather than the heartache of losing it.

Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas has insisted Amy will return to the show next year after taking a break from the current series.

Shirley said The mirror: “I know her struggle as I knew her as a little girl and she will be back on that show next year.
