Strictly winner Ellie Leach left 'gutted' after 'breaking her Glitterball Trophy' just weeks after receiving the prize

Ellie Leach has 'cracked her Glitterball Trophy' just weeks after winning the prized possession in the Strictly Come Dancing final.

A friend of the former Coronation Street actress, 22, has revealed Ellie was 'gutted' after breaking the trophy, but confirmed it is being repaired.

The Strictly star and her professional dancing champion Vito Coppola, 31, both received mini versions of the iconic Glitterball Trophy to take home and keep.

But at Ellie's, the delicate plastic notebook 'broke off' just a few weeks after she received the storage box.

According to The sunsaid a source: 'Ellie was gutted she couldn't show off her trophy after so many of her friends were desperate to hold it.

'Luckily, Ellie's dad Al is good at fixing things, so she gave it to him to put it back together.

“It's her most prized possession and she can't wait to bring it home.”

It comes after Strictly Come Dancing winner Ellie and Vito Coppola saw the new year in very different ways.

Ellie shared photos on Instagram from New Year's Eve ahead of her night out with a friend, while Vito, 31, got to work on his family's farm in Italy.

The former Coronation Street actress showed off her toned pins in a lime green miniskirt and matching blazer, giving fans a glimpse of her enviable abs.

Vito's New Year's upload on Instagram was a little different, as he told his 309,000 followers that he had been quiet because he had been busy working with his family.

The professional dancer captioned a video, “Even though I'm a little dirty and messy, I didn't want to miss this special day to wish you all a happy 2024.

'I am very grateful for everything that happens in my life and I have no filter to share it with you, because my followers know how much I take nothing for granted and how much I appreciate the little things.

'I don't feel like asking for anything for myself because I have a family who loves and supports me even though I'm miles away.

“I have grandparents who I love more than my own life and that even if I have to wait another year to see them, as far as I'm concerned it will always be worth it because family is true wealth.

'Shared love and moments together make me happy, and that is why I consider myself a happy person and a happy boy. I don't need anything else!

“My wish goes out to all of you, so that you can always find your happiness.”

'Never stop believing in yourself and in people. A super hug just the way I like it,” he continued.

Ellie and Vito's latest posts come after they broke their silence on romance rumors as they appeared on This Morning last year.

The pair have been romantically linked since the beginning of the series, before being crowned champions during last month's glitzy finale.

This morning host Josie Gibson asked them: 'I have to ask because the chemistry between you is magical. We saw you on the dance floor and it was so beautiful to watch.

'Is there a romance between you two? Are the rumors true or not?'

Ellie then replied: “Honestly we just had a great time dancing and built a really strong bond and friendship that will last forever.”

Vito repeated: 'We have a very nice bond, a good bond. When you see a person and you immediately connect with a person.

'I got a very first impression and when we met we felt like we had known each other for so long. I'm so lucky to have you in my life.'

Josie's co-host Craig Doyle then continued to probe, adding: “There's 100 per cent romance, 100 per cent… I can see it.”

Ellie and Vito then quickly exclaimed, “No, no.”

Ellie continued: 'We've been through so much together, we've spent every day together for the past three months.

“So we're really lucky to have that bond that we have and we'll be friends for life.”
