Strictly stars sign up to present new BBC travelogue in Italy – two months after one of them left the dance show

Strictly stars Rylan Clark and Rob Rinder have been signed on to present a new BBC travelogue – right after Rylan quit Strictly: It Takes Two, The sun has revealed.

The Celebrity Big Brother winner, 34, was quick to fill out his busy schedule – two months after leaving the BBC spin-off after four years as host.

The English broadcaster is now officially signed to team up with Strictly star and criminal lawyer Rob Rinder, 45, for another Grand Tour travelogue bombshell.

Since Rylan is definitely booked up and busy, he’s heading straight to Italy – where the new BBC Two show is set – from Zante, Greece, where he was filming his very latest project, Prime Video’s reality show The Bar.

In the globetrotting series, the former Strictly duo follow the path of the hedonistic 19th-century poet Lord Byron, taking their detailed cue from his letters and diaries.

In addition, Rob and Rylan’s Italian Grand Tour repeats the paths of countless English aristocrats who embarked on what came to be known as the Grand Tour.

In fact, the couple will go back to what was the original gap year between the 17th and early 19th centuries: a custom of a traditional journey across Europe with Italy as the main destination.

A source told The Sun that Rylan and Rob make nothing short of the “perfect duo” for the upcoming travelogue show – which was inspired by Lord Byron’s upcoming 200th death anniversary.

The source said they both love to travel and have “a taste for the finer things in life” – but their pursuit of fun “from different directions” makes them perfectly complementary.

“It will make for a unique take on a well-trodden path and it is hoped there will be room for another series if viewers stick to the theme,” the television source said.

“Rob will teach me all about Italian history and art as we follow in the footsteps of the cultural greats, while I show Rob how to dance on bars,” Rylan told The Sun.

The former Strictly host added that when he was offered the job alongside Rob, he couldn’t have packed his suitcase ‘faster’ with excitement.

The broadcast favorite called the forthcoming BBC show “eye-opening” and said the duo are sure to have some fun on their world tour.
