Strictly’s Katya Jones spends the weekend with former partner Tony Adams and his family as she enjoys trip to the Cotswolds – despite rows during their time on the show

Katya Jones enjoyed a relaxing weekend in the Cotswolds with her former Strictly Come Dancing partner Tony Adams and his family.

The dancer, 34, was paired with the former Arsenal footballer, 57, on the 2022 BBC show, but the pair were forced to withdraw from the competition in week eight after Tony suffered a hamstring injury.

Still, the two have remained good friends and Katya spent the weekend with him and his family as she took to Instagram to share a series of sweet snaps.

Posing with Tony in the first snap, the couple beamed from ear to ear as a mug with a photo of Strictly was conveniently placed on the table.

She captioned the post: ‘Weekend with my Cotswold family. Dancing in the kitchen, shopping, singing, cooking and lots of hugs.’

Katya also spent time with Tony’s wife Poppy, as well as three of his children Atticus, Hector and Iris.

He also shares children Oliver and Amber with his first wife Jane Shea, whom he was married to until 1997.

Katya practiced the Strictly moves again and did a spin with Hector, before also trying out a lift with Atticus.

Meanwhile, the star also caught up with her eponymous pig, after Tony named his pet pigs Kat the Pig, Anton du Pig and Claudia Winklepig, following his stint in the competition.

She added: “FYI: Kat the Pig, Anton du Pig and Claudia Winklepig have grown tremendously and are doing great!”

Although the pair are now good friends, things haven’t been smooth sailing for them during their time on Strictly after they got into a ‘heated argument’ in the closing moments of the week seven show.

Tony had made a series of mistakes during his salsa earlier in the evening and finished bottom of the leaderboard along with Katya, admitting that she had shouted at him afterwards.

Tony was then seen talking very animatedly to Katya as Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly were wrapping up the show, sparking rumors of a ‘heated row’ between the pair.

He later spoke about the awkward moment as he confessed that Katya could be ‘a bit too critical’.

When asked by Susanna Reid and Ed Balls about the reported row on Good Morning Britain, Tony joked: “We argue all the time, don’t we?”

To which Katya joked: ‘We just don’t like each other at all, we don’t get along!’

But Tony continued candidly: “We’ve been together for two months now. She trained me and the routines she performs are incredible.

“And sometimes when I skip a step, she’s a little overcritical and I just want to have a good time.

“So I think it’s a balance between maybe letting me make a mistake and enjoying it a little bit every now and then… I’m not an expert in this field.”

But the pair have put all that behind them, with Tony even wishing Katya the best of luck ahead of the new series of Strictly in September 2023.

Sharing a photo of the pair, he wrote: ‘I wish @katyajones and @themeditating actor (Nigel Harman) the best of luck for the upcoming series.’

He joked: “For God’s sake don’t let her shouting on the dance floor put you off…. Big love to you both.”
