Strictly fans fume as BBC1 show is moved AGAIN to Sunday and Monday to make way for the World Cup

Strictly Come Dancing fans are furious after the show has been moved from its regular Saturday night time slot to make way for the World Cup.

Next week’s semi-final will take place on Sunday, December 11 at 7:15 p.m., with Strictly’s results on Monday, December 12 at 8:15 p.m.

The change has been made so that the World Cup quarter-finals can be broadcast on BBC1.

The soccer game between the Netherlands and Argentina will start at 7:00 pm, which means that Strictly fans will have to wait one more day to see the semi-final.

And viewers aren’t happy about the time change, taking to social media to complain.

One said: ‘I want to make a complaint! Is there a petition that I can sign? @BBCOne rushing through #strictly this year so football can take over the airwaves. It seems the judges can’t be bothered either. Put the football on BBC2.

Another agreed writing: ‘Who am I complaining to about @bbcstrictly being Sunday next week instead of Saturday? Tonight all shows on @BBCTwo repeat, probably the same next week. Put the ball there and leave yourself #Strictly alone!’

A third repeated: ‘If football has to be on BBC1 why not put @bbcstrictly on BBC2 on Saturday night? However, it is the great semifinal lineup for next week.

‘Coders get one from me for this #Strictly series @BBCOne @BBCTwo @bbcPoV we want answers!’

And a fourth tweeted: ‘BBC has made a huge mistake in rescheduling #Strictly. First to Friday/Saturday and now to Sunday/Monday. Golden rule of television: never mess with your most watched show. Just move the football to BBC2/3/4/red button/iPlayer. Enough options there. Prioritizing Arge v Oz cannot be justified.

It comes after Molly Rainford reached next week’s Strictly semifinals after competing in the dance against Kym Marsh, who was cut from the show on Saturday.

On Friday’s live show, Kym took last place on the leaderboard when she returned to the dance floor after being forced to miss last week’s show due to a positive Covid test.

Kym received glowing comments from the judges at Musical Week, but still scored lower than her peers, scoring 34 points, with two nines from Motsi and Shirley.

And after the public vote, Kym and fellow professional Graziano Di Prima landed in the bottom two along with Molly and performed the Cha Cha from the musical Fame in a bid to stay in the contest.

Molly and Carlos also took the floor for a second presentation of their Charleston to the rhythm of Hot Honey Rag from the musical Chicago.

Tension: Kym Marsh narrowly missed out on reaching the semi-finals after taking on Molly Rainford and her partner Carlos Gu at the dreaded dance.

However, the judges chose Molly and Carlos to advance to the semifinals, after she placed second with 38 points during Friday’s live show.

After both couples danced a second time, Craig Revel Horwood delivered his verdict, sending Molly and Carlos off to the next week’s live show.

He said: ‘It’s always so difficult at this point in the competition, because both couples danced brilliantly, I don’t want to see either go.

“I’m really tearing myself apart, but the couple I want to save, based only on the best dance tonight for me, is Molly and Carlos.”

Motsi Mabuse then gave another vote to Molly and Carlos, saying: ‘First of all, I want to say to both of you that you can be very proud of yourselves. Both have been so great and amazing. I’m going to base my decision on this dance and I’m going to save Molly and Carlos.

But Anton Du Beke then saved Kym and Graziano, giving the deciding vote to head judge Shirley Ballas.

Giving her verdict, she said: “As you’d expect at this point in the competition, the quality of the dancing was incredible, I thought both couples danced brilliantly, but I felt that one couple raised their game with a freedom they didn’t have.” I don’t have Friday night, which is why I’m going to save Kym and Graziano.

Casting the deciding vote, Head Judge Shirley decided to save Molly and Carlos, meaning it was Kym and Graziano who were sent packing.

She said: ‘Well, first of all, a big congratulations to both couples. Both couples danced exquisitely, it has been a very difficult decision to make. But based on this dance and this dance alone, I’m going to save Molly and Carlos.’
