Strictly Come Dancing’s Adam Thomas is ‘BANNED’ from rehearsals – with his spot on show teetering on the edge

Strictly Come Dancing producers fear a winter flu outbreak could potentially affect this year’s cast after Adam Thomas fell ill and had to stop rehearsing.

Celebrities and their professional dance partners have been advised to prioritize their health, even if it requires them to skip precious rehearsal time.

A source revealed that bosses are worried the disease could spread quickly to the stars, which would be a “nightmare” for the show.

Adam was forced to miss training in order not to pass his bug on to others or to his dancing partner Luba Mushtuk.

Speaking with Suna source said: “Celebrities and professionals are strictly banned from training if they are ill in a bid to stop them spreading it.

“Of course everyone on the show just wants to show up and get on with it, but if they spread their lurgy, it could have a big effect.”

‘Strictly it should be about glitter and glitter – not snot.’

The 35-year-old actor has been juggling his role in hit BBC school drama Waterloo Road alongside his training for Strictly, but it seems the non-stop work has finally caught up with him.

Taking to Instagram earlier this week, the star shared a snap of himself looking a little worse for wear as he lay in bed nursing his head.

He captioned the post: ‘All Sunday to be bad!’ with a sad emoji.

Adam has since returned to training, but his place on the show could be in jeopardy due to his lack of training.

This isn’t the first time Adam has had to miss training for a prime-time dance show.

Late last month, the dad-of-two revealed he missed a full day of training due to work commitments at Waterloo Road.

In the role that launched his career, the 35-year-old is currently back playing Donte on the show, alongside co-stars Kim Marsh and Angela Griffin.

The show was rebooted last year after being axed in 2015, and in September, Adam shared a photo of Donte’s costume rail when he wrote: “Missing a day of practice today…but it’s all worth it. Work is work! Let’s go Donte!!!’

As well as juggling two jobs, the former Emmerdale star is also battling rheumatoid arthritis, which he was diagnosed with in August, and previously admitted on BBC Breakfast that rehearsals are not going as well as he’d hoped because of the joint condition.

Adam, who is married to his wife of six years Caroline, told the paper that being away from home was “difficult” and “the biggest emotional rollercoaster”.

He sweetly admitted that he calls her all the time to tell her how much he loves her.

Adam left his famous brothers Scott and Ryan in tears on Saturday night when he performed his emotional waltz to I Wonder Why by Curtis Stigers last weekend.

His elegant waltz met with thunderous applause from the audience and praise from the judges.

His twin brother and Love Island star Scott and Coronation Street actor Ryan were left in tears by his performance – as was Luba herself.

Afterwards, Adam said: ‘I liked it. It’s like in a movie there.

“This is why I wanted to do Strictly. I’m buzzing. Two years ago I didn’t really have a job, but now I have two!’
