O’Connell said he compared his first meeting with Luhrmann to a blind date.

Baz needed a choreographer for a low-budget music video he directed on a budget of just $2,000.

‘I remember going to see him at his home in Kings Cross. I thought he looked a little angry and he thought I was a little angry too,ā€ said O’Connell.

“His flat had no furniture, so we just sat on the floor and talked about the music video as if the budget was $2 million instead of $2,000.”
