A vintage Rolls-Royce owned by The Streets frontman Mike Skinner will sell at auction for more than £17,000.
The heavily modified car featured on the cover of the 2006 album The Hardest Way To Make An Easy Living. The 1974 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow is now up for auction on Thursday, with current bids already reaching £17,250.
Skinner ordered major modifications to the classic car in 2006, fitting it with distinctive 22-inch wheels and tan leather seats.
The Streets frontman had to abandon plans to use the car to tour due to problems installing a stereo system.

The vintage car was heavily modified by British hip-hop artist Mike Skinner and refitted with tan leather seats from a Porsche 928
Mike Skinner intended to use the car for a tour of the UK, but had to cancel the plans due to problems installing a sound system.
Under Skinner’s ownership, the Silver Shadow, which originally featured Caribbean Aqua bodywork and a contrasting white roof, was painted full gloss black. The London-born musician also outfitted the Rolls-Royce with 22-inch wheels and a dual exhaust center exhaust.
The car is completely stripped of the interior is completely stripped and equipped with the front seats of a Porsche 928.
A custom pair of tan leather seats was also fitted in the rear, designed to match those of the Porsche.
The car was also equipped with Pioneer CD stereo headphones, Alpine screens in the back of the front seat headrests and additional speakers.
The car is fully roadworthy and MOT inspected in May 2023

The car’s engine was also upgraded with an Edelbrock air filter
However, plans to use the car for a UK tour fell through due to problems with finishing the sound system.
In a 2006 post on his official blog, Skinner explained, “I was propa (sic) looking forward to riding around England and Scotland on three wheels.”
“If anyone wants to buy a Silver Shadow without a sound system, I’m open to offers to be honest.”
UK auction house Collecting Cars say the ride is being offered with no estimate, but they would expect the car’s provenance to mean it would sell for over £10,000 – which seems like great value for such a recognizable piece of modern British music history .’
