School locked after ‘armed’ motorcyclist was spotted in area – less than a week after a teen allegedly shot at another campus

A school has gone into lockdown after reports of an armed motorcyclist nearby.
Police received reports that a man with a covered face riding a black, red and white dirt bike was behaving suspiciously around the eastern Perth suburb of Stratton around 11am on Monday.
At least one school in the area has been closed, while parents at another school, St. Anthony’s, received notice that students would be kept indoors during lunch. Western Australian reported.

“Please note that the kids will be kept indoors during lunch today and the Year 5 cross-country event has been postponed,” the text reads.
“We will notify you no later than 2:30pm if there are any changes to our current collection arrangements.”
A WA police spokesman said police have received “unconfirmed reports that the man may be in possession of a firearm.”
“A number of police resources are being sent to the area to locate the person,” they said.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested last Wednesday after a shooting at Atlantis Beach Baptist College in north Perth
Monday’s scare comes after a school shooting at Atlantis Beach Baptist College, In Perthnorth, last Wednesday.
A 15-year-old boy has been charged with seven alleged felonies, including three counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm/ammunition, firing a firearm in a manner that caused fear, and unlawful act or confession with intent to cause harm.
It has been revealed that the boy was only 50 yards away when he allegedly opened fire on the classroom from the school parking lot.
He allegedly fired three bullets from a rifle, two of which hit the classroom.
One of them entered the building about five feet above the ground and exited at the same height.

The gunfire prompted students and staff to hide in closets and under desks until police arrived on the scene.
It is alleged that the boy stole two guns from his father’s gun locker, along with 60 rounds of ammunition, before driving to the school.
He appeared via video link at Perth Children’s Court on Friday morning and will appear again on Tuesday.
He is being held in the Banksia Detention Center.
The shooting has prompted the state government to tighten Western Australia’s gun laws.
