A desperate search is on for a woman who randomly punched a toddler in a busy shopping centre.
The terrifying incident happened at Park Center on the Albany Highway in East Victoria Park in Perth’s south-east about 1.25pm on Tuesday.
The footage showed a woman with short bleached hair walking towards the toddler who was being held in her mother’s arms.
Seconds later. she reached out and attacked the little girl before her mother quickly backed away.
The woman then fled the scene.

The toddler suffered facial injuries.
The woman is unknown to the mother and child.
The hunt continues for the woman, who is described as of medium build and was wearing a pink singlet, gray shorts with white stripes and blue sneakers.
Anyone with information about the woman’s whereabouts is asked to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
The incident follows another shocking attack on an innocent baby.
In August, nine-month-old baby Luka was injured by a stranger while picnicking with his mother in a Brisbane park.

Police allege a man approached the baby boy and poured a thermos of hot coffee on him, burning his face and chest.

Luka suffered severe burns to up to 60 percent of his body and has undergone four operations, which may also require a skin graft.
