A woman claims she was thrown into a police van after being stranded aboard a Jetstar flight with more than 300 passengers.
Flight JQ30 from Bangkok to Melbourne was forced to make an emergency landing in Alice Springs on Saturday night after a passenger suffered a stroke.
An electrical failure in the aircraft, combined with the inability of the airport to serve international passengers, caused passengers to stay on the plane for almost double the planned flight time.
Nikki Mitropoulos said she was in immense pain during the seven-hour layover on the airport tarmac because she had just had a tummy tuck.
Nikki Mitropoulos was on flight JQ30 from Bangkok to Melbourne that was forced to make an emergency landing in Alice Springs on Saturday night after a passenger suffered a stroke.
Ms. Metropoulos claimed that she and her friend were thrown into a rice wagon after asking to disembark from the plane.
“I said, ‘I suffer from anxiety, I just had surgery and I’m really struggling here,'” Ms Mitropoulos said. a current affair on Monday night.
He said the scale prevented him from taking the antibiotics prescribed to prevent an infection after the operation.
Ms. Mitropoulos claims that when she told the flight captain that she was experiencing a panic attack and asked if she could leave the plane, she was met with an indifferent response.
“He (the captain) said, ‘No, I’m going to make an example of you, they’re going to arrest you,'” he said.
“That’s when I had a severe panic attack.”
The woman said she suffered from anxiety and struggled after undergoing stomach surgery.

She said they took her and her friend Michelle off the plane, put her in a truck and took her to the police station.
Ms. Mitropoulos said Jetstar offered her a $200 credit, but that wasn’t enough to convince her to fly Jetstar again.
“We will never travel with Jetstar again, ever,” he said.
A Jetstar spokesperson said the airline had “zero tolerance for disruptive behavior.”
“Our team is there to ensure a safe and respectful environment for everyone,” the spokesperson said.

Jetstar passengers are seen in a cordoned off area at the Alice Springs airport after their plane made an emergency stop for a passenger.
“Any passenger who refuses to follow instructions or who is abusive will be removed from the flight.”
The spokesman thanked the passengers for their understanding and apologized for the “difficult experience.”
“We appreciate that this has been a long delay and we apologize to the passengers for the difficult experience,” he said.
“We thank passengers for their patience and understanding as we support the passenger who requires urgent medical assistance and work to get everyone else on their way as quickly as possible.”
Passengers were given the option of disembarking in a specially divided section of the airport and were provided with drinks and food.
The replacement plane arrived some 11 hours later and the new flight touched down in Melbourne just after 11pm on Monday.
