Stormzy says he was so starstruck by Adele that he hugged her FOUR times when she came to his show

Stormzy has spoken openly about his admiration for Adele, saying he was so starstruck when she came on his show that he hugged her four times.

The 29-year-old rapper appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show Saturday night, where he spoke of being a “huge fan” of the singer, 34.

Discussing his friendship with hitmaker, he added, “I’ve always been a huge fan. She came to my show in London and I was very, very starstruck. Extremely starstruck.

“I remember thinking, ‘Can I hug you? Oh, can I hug you again?’ I probably asked three or four times. She is sweet.’

Speaking of his recent trip to see Adele perform during her Vegas residency, Stormzy said, “That was amazing. Honestly, probably the best show I’ve ever seen. And I’ve seen a lot of shows.

“As for the intimacy of it. It was very much like… you’re in there, but it’s like a little theater, but it’s f***ing Adele.

“It’s got all the glitz and glamor like a huge arena show, but it’s in a small space and it’s kind of awesome. Beautiful and spectacular and glamorous… I was like a kiss from the chef.’

Jonathan asked if he’d like to do a duet with Adele someday, which made Stormzy laugh as he replied, “Come on man, know what I’m talking about.”

‘I wish, I wish… you have to… there are leagues and levels Jonathan. Are you joking?’

Fellow guest and comedian Roisin Conaty joked, “I went for my 30th birthday and was really broke. It was a really depressing birthday.

“Being bread in Vegas is like being broke squared. What I could afford was Vegas bingo.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Stormzy talked about Jose Mourinho starring in his Mel Made Me Do It video.

Despite involving many stars, he confessed that the one who ‘got away’ was Lewis Hamilton

He said, ‘Really wanted Lewis Hamilton, legend. He was in the middle of the season, so that didn’t work.’

Stormzy spoke about meeting Taylor Swift at the MTV EMAs last week, describing her as “lovely.”

He said, “I met Taylor, she’s sweet. She is amazing. She was just so sweet. We all went off and looked at everyone like, “How the hell is she?”

“We talked for about an hour. She was nice, had advice, you know when you’re just like, ‘Ah, you’re just amazing.’ I’m a fan.’

Roisin added, “I’m not charming like Stormzy. I come across as quite scary. I met Brandon Flowers from The Killers. I am a big fan. I was so serious.

He said, “Do you want a picture?” That’s celeb talk for, “Let’s end this.” I was too scary.’

Adele opened up earlier last year during An Audience With Adele about her friendship with Stormzy.

‘Can I just say that the last time I made an album was when we first met, wasn’t it? When you came to see me at the O2.’

Stormzy shyly admitted, “Yeah, I was super clumsy when I met you.”

Adele replied, “I thought you were pretty chill. Look at us now!’

She continued, “We are super close, actually me and Stormzy. I won’t go into details as we are both very private people.

“But last summer we had a real moment with the ocean, God and all sorts. Really, we felt a presence around us and we were both like, “Let’s go get life.”‘

Adele also opened up about her relationship with Stormzy in an interview with THE FACE.

She said, “I love how open he’s been all along about his mental health and I don’t think a lot of people were when he first came out.”

Stormzy even went on holiday with her friends in 2020 with Adele.

“He hadn’t been on vacation!” Adel explained. “And I was like, ‘I’m going to get you out of here. We need to get you out, you need to relax.’

“When you consider how much younger he is, he’s so open and eager to learn and hear things about life. I’m not even talking about music. I really love him very much. I really have a lot of time for him, a lot.’

She added, “His mom did a great job with him.”
