Stormy Daniels’ attorney feared Michael Cohen would “commit suicide” when he was denied a job in the Trump administration after the 2016 election, the hush money lawsuit revealed Thursday.
Keith Davidson told the court he was “concerned” about Cohen’s well-being during a phone call in which the self-described “fixer” revealed he was not chosen as Trump’s attorney general or chief of staff.
“Can you believe I’m not going to Washington after everything I did for that damn guy?” Cohen told Davidson.
‘I can’t believe I’m not going to Washington. I’ve saved that guy so many times, you don’t even know it.’

Cohen was referring to the hush-money deal he made with Davidson to initially expose Daniels to allegations of an affair with Trump.
Davidson described the tortured process he endured, with Cohen going ballistic every time Daniels appeared on TV.
The lawyer was also questioned about a statement he made denying that Daniels and Trump were having an affair.
Davidson squirmed on the stand when asked about a text message he sent to National Enquirer editor Dylan Howard in the early hours of Nov. 9, 2016, the night of the election.
Davidson wrote: ‘What have we done?’
Davidson told the jury: ‘This was gallows humour.
“On election night when the results came in. It was a surprise among broadcasters and others that Donald Trump was leading in the polls and there was a growing sense that people were about to call an election.
“There was an understanding that our efforts somehow helped Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.”
The court heard Howard replied in a text message: ‘Oh my god’

Davidson also represented Playboy model Karen McDougal, who claimed she had an affair with Trump.
The lawyer told the jury that Cohen called him “fairly often” after the election.
During a mid-December phone call on a Saturday morning, Cohen called him “very despondent and sad.”
Davidson said, “He called me and he told me he was depressed. He used very colorful language about that phase of his life.
Trump’s lawyer Emil Bove asked Davidson about the December 2016 conversation with Cohen.
Bove asked if Davidson was “concerned” about Cohen’s well-being after he got off the phone.
Davidson said, “I thought he was going to kill himself.”

Davidson replied, “That’s true.”
