Moment tractor driver sends wave of Storm Bert floodwater smashing through shop windows as he speeds through Worcestershire street – leaving locals furious

This is the moment a tractor driver sent a ‘wave of water’ through shop windows today.

Locals were furious and branded the inconsiderate driver a ‘t***er’ for causing a flood of brown water that soaked businesses in Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire.

Owners had fought valiantly to keep the water out of their shops, only to see their hard work undone in an instant with one person saying he had ‘put Tenbury out of business’.

The town was flooded earlier today when the nearby Kyre Brook rose and caused a wall to collapse during Storm Bert, which has devastated large parts of Britain.

The video shows a green tractor coming around a corner and driving through the middle of the city center.

It causes wave after wave of nasty floodwater to crash into the buildings, reportedly breaking doors and windows, but the driver doesn’t seem concerned as the farm vehicle continues to bounce down the street.

At one point, the tractor outside a store starts to slow down, causing water to lap over the front of the building.

Locals have reacted furiously after it was posted on Facebook, with Chloe Mcintosh saying: ‘Thank you to the bastard who drove [sic] through Tenbury in a tractor at a million miles an hour. Everyone’s life’s work, gone.

‘We have all managed to keep the water out of the shops etc. He drove through it, smashed all the windows and doors and put Tenbury out of business.”

Retired Environment Agency area manager Dave Throup shared the footage on X and branded the driver an ‘absolute t***er’.

“Sends a six-foot bow wave through the windows of Tenbury,” he said.

‘The locals are understandably furious!’

Kirsty Marie said the driver had shown ‘no care or consideration for local small businesses’ even after the Kyre Brook ‘flood defense’ wall collapsed.

MailOnline has contacted West Mercia Police.

The town panicked as the Kyre Brook rose and damaged a wall, with cries of ‘come back’ as floodwaters rushed through the streets.

It comes amid Storm Bert, which plunges parts of Britain into flooding chaos, killing four people.

For the second day in a row, gusts of wind and thunderstorms hit the country at a speed of 110 km per hour, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.

Officials in South Wales have declared a major incident due to river flooding – as the body of 75-year-old Brian Perry was found after he went missing in the bulging River Conwy on Saturday.

Mr Perry is the fourth victim of the deadly storm, after yesterday’s extreme weather left thousands of homes without power and killed three motorists in fatal road incidents.

A huge search and rescue mission is also currently underway in Devon after reports of a person floating in the River Sid during the storm.

Today’s heavy rain and fast storms also forced the Royal Parks to close all nine sites in London, including Kensington Parks, Primrose Hill and Hyde Park.

The latter location was currently hosting the Winter Wonderland event, but bosses confirmed the Christmas extravaganza would not go ahead today due to ‘the poor weather conditions’.

People’s travel plans are also in tatters as no trains run between Paddington and Cornwall due to the floods and there are serious delays on all lines.
